BOIÇUCANGA
The beach, in the shape of a horseshoe, is located between the beaches of Maresias and Camburi. It is one of the beaches with the best infrastructure in São Sebastião, with the largest event square on the south coast (Por do Sol Square), a skate park, a shopping center, campsites, inns, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, a shopping center, a hospital, emergency room and office.
PÔR DO SOL SQUARE is the second largest event area in the municipality - the largest on the south coast. It has parking, access track, sand courts, sports court, multi-use pergola, acoustic shell, space for games and playground. It also includes a multi-use stage for events, a contemplation deck, bike paths, a walking track and a skate park.
Boiçucanga is one of the few beaches in Brazil where the sun sets over the sea. This happens in the right corner of the beach (Boca da Lagoa), in a scenario that includes the islands of Montão de Trigo, dos Gatos and das Couves; some say it is the most beautiful sunset in Brazil. In its left corner, the Boiçucanga river flows, where some boats dock, mostly fishermen, who still follow the local tradition.
From the beach there is access to Praia Brava, trails through the Atlantic Forest and waterfalls, such as the Ribeirão do Itu. Recently, it has become one of the favorite places on the coast to practice paragliding.
HISTORY OF BOIÇUCANGA
Considered one of the oldest cities on the North Coast, Boiçucanga attracts many tourists every year. The fact is that it has been like this since the pre-colonial period.
Like most coastal cities throughout Brazil, the region was occupied by Tupi Indians, more specifically the Tupinambás and Tupiniquins. Historically, the Serra de Boiçucanga was a natural boundary between the territories of each tribe.
For a long time, the region was considered just a village, but Boiçucanga's economy progressed through agriculture and fishing and remained so for a long time. The situation improved even more after the construction of the BR-101, one of the main road stretches in Brazil. It is precisely this road that facilitates access to Boiçucanga beach and other destinations in São Sebastião.
With the growth of the city, Boiçucanga has become one of the beaches with the best infrastructure on the south coast of São Sebastião
The term "Boiçucanga" originates from the Tupi language and means "big snake skeleton", through the combination of the terms mboîa ("snake"), usu ("big") and kanga ("skeleton"). Another interpretation of the name says that, in Tupi-Guarani, "Boiçucanga" means "big-headed snake" and that the beach received this name due to the similarity of the mountain formation that is in its left corner.
The location is easily accessible, it is just 100 meters from the beach and 100 meters from the nearest bus stop.
Boca da Lagoa is just 1.5km from the Litorânea Bus Station, which is located in Boiçucanga itself.
We have one parking space per apartment, free of charge.
